STORE PRIVACY POLICY

Curiosity Untamed LLC (“Curiosity Untamed,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of customers and visitors to the Curiosity Untamed Store at shop.curiosityuntamed.com (the “Store”). This Store Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the Store, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to you.
This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the Curiosity Untamed Store. Use of the Curiosity Untamed membership website, program curriculum, and related services is subject to the Privacy Notice available on the main Curiosity Untamed website.
1. Information We Collect
When you place an order, create an account, contact us, request a return or refund, or otherwise use the Store, we may collect information that you provide to us. This may include your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, telephone number, account information, order information, products purchased, communications with us, and information related to returns, refunds, exchanges, or customer-service requests.
If you create a Store account, we also maintain information necessary to provide and manage that account, including your login and order history. Customers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials.
We also collect certain information automatically when you visit or use the Store. This may include your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referring pages, dates and times of visits, and information about how visitors use the Store.
The Store uses cookies and similar technologies necessary to operate features such as the shopping cart, checkout, customer accounts, and other website functions. We also use analytics technologies as described below.
2. Payment Information
Payments through the Store are processed through PayPal. Information necessary to process your payment is transmitted to PayPal.
Curiosity Untamed LLC does not receive or store your complete payment-card number when payment information is entered and processed directly through PayPal. We do receive and retain information about the transaction, such as the amount paid, payment status, payment method, transaction information, and other information necessary to process and maintain the order.
PayPal processes personal information according to its own privacy policies and practices.
3. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to operate the Store and provide the products and services you request. This includes processing and fulfilling orders, collecting payment, shipping merchandise, providing customer accounts and order histories, communicating about orders, handling returns and refunds, responding to customer-service questions, maintaining business and accounting records, preventing or investigating fraudulent or unauthorized transactions, maintaining and improving the Store, and complying with applicable legal and tax obligations.
We may also use aggregated or statistical information to understand how customers and visitors use the Store and to improve our products, website, and services.
4. Order and Transactional Communications
When you place an order, we use your contact information to send communications related to that transaction. These may include order confirmations, payment information, shipping notices, questions about an order, backorder information, refund or return communications, and other customer-service messages.
Placing an order does not automatically subscribe you to marketing emails.
If we offer an email marketing list, newsletter, or other promotional communications, you must separately choose to subscribe. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications without affecting transactional or administrative communications relating to your orders or account.
5. Shipping and Fulfillment
We share information necessary to prepare, ship, track, and deliver your purchases with companies that provide shipping and fulfillment services.
Orders shipped directly by Curiosity Untamed LLC may require customer information to be provided to Stamps.com and the applicable postal or delivery service. This information may include your name, shipping address, email address, telephone number, and information necessary to prepare shipping labels, track shipments, and complete delivery.
Certain branded apparel and gift items are produced and fulfilled by Printful. When you purchase a product fulfilled by Printful, we provide Printful with the information reasonably necessary to manufacture, fulfill, and ship your order. This may include your name, shipping address, contact information, and information about the products ordered.
These companies process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable contractual and legal requirements.
6. Accounting and Business Records
Order and transaction information is provided to QuickBooks for bookkeeping, accounting, financial reporting, reconciliation, and other legitimate business purposes.
Information maintained in accounting records may include customer names, transaction dates, products purchased, amounts paid or refunded, taxes, shipping charges, payment information associated with the transaction, and other information necessary to maintain accurate business records.
7. Google Analytics
The Store uses Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use the website. Google Analytics may collect information about your device, browser, IP address, pages visited, interactions with the Store, referring websites, and other information about website usage.
We use this information to understand Store traffic and usage, identify website problems, and improve the Store and our services.
Google may process information collected through Google Analytics in accordance with its own privacy policies and terms.
We do not currently use Meta Pixel or Pinterest tracking on the Store. If we add advertising or other tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices, choices, or consent mechanisms required by applicable law.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Store uses cookies and similar technologies for several purposes.
Some cookies are necessary for the Store to function properly. For example, WooCommerce may use cookies to maintain shopping-cart contents, facilitate checkout, recognize logged-in customers, and provide other Store functionality.
Analytics cookies and similar technologies may be used to help us understand how visitors use the Store.
You may be able to limit or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent some Store features from working properly, including shopping-cart, account, or checkout functions.
Where applicable law requires consent or additional choices regarding non-essential cookies or tracking technologies, we will provide those choices as required.
9. Customer Accounts
Customers may create an account on the Store. Account information may include your name, contact information, addresses, login information, and order history.
Customer accounts are provided in part so customers can manage their information and review previous orders.
If an account becomes inactive, personal information associated with the inactive account is currently retained for up to 5 years, subject to the exceptions and other retention practices described below.
10. How Long We Keep Information
We retain personal information for different periods depending on why the information was collected and whether it remains reasonably necessary for our business, customer-service, accounting, legal, or other legitimate purposes.
Our current WooCommerce retention settings are:
Inactive customer accounts: up to 5 years
Pending orders: up to 6 months
Failed orders: up to 1 year
Cancelled orders: up to 1 year
Refunded orders: up to 8 years
Completed orders: up to 20 years
Completed order records are retained for a longer period because some Curiosity Untamed customers and troops remain active for many years. Maintaining historical completed-order information allows customers to review their previous purchases and allows us to provide customer service concerning long-term purchasing history.
When a WooCommerce retention period expires, personal information associated with the applicable record may be deleted or anonymized in accordance with the Store’s configuration and applicable law.
Some information may be retained for a different period when reasonably necessary to comply with legal, tax, accounting, recordkeeping, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate requirements. Information maintained by third-party service providers may also be subject to their own retention requirements.
11. When We Share Personal Information
Curiosity Untamed LLC does not disclose personal information simply because another company would like to market to our customers.
We share personal information when reasonably necessary to operate the Store, fulfill orders, process payments, provide shipping, maintain business records, operate and analyze the website, provide customer service, protect the Store and our customers, or comply with applicable law.
Depending on your interaction with the Store, recipients may include PayPal for payment processing; Stamps.com and postal or delivery services for shipping; Printful for fulfillment of applicable products; QuickBooks for accounting and business records; Google Analytics for website analytics; and companies that provide website hosting, security, technical, or other services necessary to operate the Store.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process; protect the rights, property, or safety of Curiosity Untamed LLC or others; investigate fraud or misuse; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
12. Sale or Transfer of the Business
If Curiosity Untamed LLC or some or all of its business or assets are sold, transferred, reorganized, merged, or otherwise involved in a business transaction, customer and business records may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
Any successor receiving personal information would remain responsible for handling that information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
13. Children’s Privacy
The Store is intended for purchases and account management by adults. Children under 18 should not create Store accounts or submit personal information to the Store without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
Although many products sold through the Store are intended for use by children and youth, purchasing a product for a child does not require the child to create an account or provide personal information directly to the Store.
If we learn that personal information has been submitted directly by a child in circumstances where it should not have been collected, we may delete the information as appropriate or required by law.
14. Security
Curiosity Untamed LLC uses reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information.
No website, electronic storage system, or method of transmitting information over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
Customers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their Store account credentials and should notify us if they believe their account has been accessed without authorization.
15. Your Choices and Requests
You may contact us to request assistance with personal information associated with your Store account or orders. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may be able to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information.
Some information cannot necessarily be deleted upon request. For example, we may need or be permitted to retain transaction information for accounting, tax, legal, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, customer-service, or other legitimate business purposes.
If you have a Store account, certain account information may also be available for you to review or update through your account.
Requests concerning personal information may be sent to info@curiosityuntamed.com. We may take reasonable steps to verify that a person making a request is the individual to whom the information relates or is authorized to act on that person’s behalf.
16. Do Not Track and Privacy Controls
Web browsers and devices may provide privacy settings or signals concerning tracking. Because technologies and legal requirements concerning these signals continue to develop, the Store will respond to legally required browser or device-based privacy signals when applicable.
You may also use browser settings to control or delete cookies, although disabling necessary cookies may affect Store functionality.
17. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Store may contain links to websites or services operated by other companies. Curiosity Untamed LLC does not control the privacy practices of independent third parties.
When you leave the Store or interact directly with a third-party service, that company’s privacy policy and terms may apply. We encourage customers to review the privacy practices of services they use.
18. United States and Canada
Curiosity Untamed LLC operates the Store from the United States and currently ships orders within the United States and to Canada.
If you access the Store from Canada, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and by service providers involved in processing, fulfilling, or maintaining your transaction.
Personal information will be handled subject to applicable law.
19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Store Privacy Policy when our practices, service providers, technology, or legal obligations change.
The “Last Revised” date at the top of this Policy identifies the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated or presented for consent when required by applicable law.
20. Relationship to Other Curiosity Untamed Policies
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through the Curiosity Untamed Store.
Purchases through the Store are also subject to the Curiosity Untamed LLC Store Terms and Conditions, Refunds & Returns Policy, and Shipping & Order Processing Policy.
Memberships, Subscriptions, curriculum licenses, program Content, and use of the main Curiosity Untamed website are governed by the separate agreements and policies applicable to those services.
